Mechanical Flipbook Services:
2Dsquared offers a unique animation service for individuals, businesses and corporations. Your custom-made mechanical flipbook might be a personal heart-felt message for that someone special in your life? Alternatively, it might be a multi-unit corporate branding initiative for distribution among any number of clients or employees? Most likely it will be somewhere in-between the two, like an executive toy or a child's plaything? Whatever it is, and whoever its for, we're sure you'll totally appreciate the unique animated enjoyment our custom-made mechanical flipbook devices will offer.
Flipbooks can be anything you make of them. We are simply here to create the animation you want and in a way you want it. Mechanical flipbook devices can be simple, hand-cranked boxes made of a smooth, brown card casing that can even have additional brand messages or designs printed on them. Alternatively they could have a silky, dark leatherette finish that might even be battery charged and animating their message with the touch of a button.
Devices are usually ready-made - but they could be left so they need to be constructed by the recipient. (Which can be really great fun for any creative-minded individual!) The bottom line is that our mechanical, animated flipbooks can be anything you want them to be. We will simply ensure that you'll get the best animation for your buck - and of course that your message comes through loud and clear in the way you want it.

In addition to our novel mechanical flipbooks, 2Dsquared can also offer other top-quality, traditional animation services too. We have the talent to pretty much animate anything you throw at us - whether it be a TV commercials, a Titles Sequence, a Corporate Film or Documentary, or even a Full-length Feature Film. We believe our showreel speaks for itself - although it barely scratches the surface of what we are fully capable of. Our motto is... "If you can think it you can draw it, and if you can draw it we can animate it!" We're confident though that you'll be amazed by what a great deal of imagination, hand-crafted talent and our versatile supportive technology can do for you!
Current 'Work in Progress':
2Dsquared is always extremely keen to move the art of traditional hand-drawn animation to entirely new and innovative areas. We are currently working on our own in-house short docu-drama film that's inspired by the life and works of 17th-century botanist, herbalist and astrologer, Nicholas Culpepper. (I know... you can't imagine a more unlikely subject for animation than that huh?) We're working on the film in our spare time, between commissions. Yet its already proving to be groundbreaking, so we're happy to share little of it with you. Here's our current 'work in progress' (with just pencil drawings where we've not animated it yet) for the opening title sequence...
